Freestanding Kitchen Furniture With Character
Not every kitchen needs a full refit. Freestanding furniture adds storage fast. It also moves with you if you change house. Our kitchen range mixes practical storage with relaxed, farmhouse style.
Larders and Storage Units
A larder unit holds tins, jars and small appliances in one place. It frees up wall cupboards for everyday items. Dresser bases and sideboards add worktop space and deep cupboards. Top one with a dresser top to display plates and jugs.
Tables and Seating
Kitchen-diners need tables that take daily wear. Browse our dining tables in oak and reclaimed wood. A bench slides under the table when not in use. For islands and breakfast bars, choose from our bar stools in leather effect, velvet and wood.
How to Plan Freestanding Pieces
- Measure door widths and ceiling heights before you order.
- Leave 100cm clear in front of units for doors and walkways.
- Keep tall units away from the hob and oven.
- Use one wood tone to tie mixed pieces together.

Kitchen: Frequently Asked Questions
What is a larder unit?
A larder unit is a tall freestanding cupboard for food, jars and small appliances. It adds lots of storage without fitting new cabinets.
Do you design bespoke kitchens?
Yes. We design and build bespoke kitchens from our Southsea showroom. Use our online price estimator for a quick guide price.
What height bar stool do I need?
Allow about 25 to 30cm between the seat and the worktop. For a standard 90cm worktop, a 60 to 65cm seat height works well.
Can I use a sideboard in the kitchen?
Yes. A sideboard or dresser base adds worktop space and cupboards. Add a dresser top above for open display shelving.
